Ours was named on our maiden voyage when we traveled with wine resting in our oven. Which was fine until we had a minor sway incident that caused the wine to depart the oven, along with the cast iron pan also stored in the oven, where one bottle (Bogel Merlot) was smashed, with the result that wine was all over the floor, mats, mini rug, etc. Which we discovered of course when we opened the door after arriving at the campground. ("Welcome to RVing" it said....) Our Airstream was thus christened Miss Merlot. I think you have to let the name happen if it is to be named,

Turned the naming task over to my 6 year old daughter to help make an even better connection between her and the AS....she came up with "Daisy" just because it seemed to fit. That was good enough for me...

Ours was dubbed "Raggedy Anne" based on the pictures we saw when we were trying to buy her. She was REALLY raggedy. A year and a half later after a full (but not shell off) restoration, she's gorgeous, but we haven't managed to re-christen her.

Remember back in high school chemistry class, all those funny Latin names for elements & their respective abbreviations, as shown on the chemical table of elements, for example:
Hg, for Hydrargyrym = mercury
Pb, for Plumbum = lead
Au, for Aurum = gold
Ag, for Argentum = silver

Therefore, the AS became Argentum

Airstream name

Our first airstream - an '08 Bambi - was "The Bambi". After 5 years shooting around the country with it (and the two dogs), moving into our 25' seemed so roomy that we had to call it "Babs" for "Big A** Bambi".....and it stuck!

The Minuet is IBDY for Itty Bitty Dirt Yacht. That name came from a fella over on the Casita forum. When I bought the Minuet I posted over there that I hoped I would still be welcome and was told they didn't care what kind of Itty Bitty Dirt Yacht I had, I would always be welcome. Great folks here and there.

I gave the challenge to the Fam: Wife and two kids.

The rule was to only use the letters in AIRSTREAM. Letters could be used more than once.

We came up with RAMSES. We also customized our plate to the same the same thing.

We take the good version of his name.

Whats in a name?

When I returned home after finally making the deal, and pulling our little 23 footer home, my wife asked me "How does it pull?" To which I replied "like a breeze". So that is has been her name for the last 5 years!

Good luck in finding a name!!

We did have a popup and my older kids named it "Ghetto." They so much loved camping in that as older teens...lol.

We named our AS "Pinni" and our TV "Nickles", after Pinnacles National Park. Our first outing with them and our favorite place for a short weekend outing.
