How about a subforum for kids?

Many of us have children who like to keep in touch and chat about camping and Airstreams. Why not give the kids their own sub forum.

I agree!!! My daughter was so excited about checking out the WBBCI kids website only to be disappointed about its lack of content. She would love to part of Airforums and she has already thought up several screen names!!

in mr rogers' neighborhood...

here's a poll about this issue, 3 years back.

"Airstream Youth"

vote, post and bump it up.

and a follow-up thread for 'older children'...

20-and 30-something Airstreamers

cheers

And all this time I thought that's what this entire forum was devoted to.

Can a poll that has been closed be opened of does a new one need to be started?

hi rhonda

a mod/admin could reopen the poll.

i'm not sure why it was closed, perhaps the o.p. put a timer on the poll.

mostly those 2 threads are about young adults, not children.

so start another poll on that topic IF you like. doing a thread with a poll is EASY!

i think there may be issues about forums for the younger (minors) set...

including moderation activity and restricted viewing and so on....

isn't there something in the fine print about being over 18 to play here?

i'm not 4oragainst a kiddie forum, just offering basic info.

cheers

Thanks 2air, you are a treasure trove of information. Always pulling the related threads out of your hat.

So the question is can there be concessions made for the kiddies to have there own forum since there is an 18 and up rule? I guess this question needs to be answered by the higher ups before I can go any further with this request.

Hey Rhonda - just start a Thread - and then all can jump in to the thread - under community or something of that nature.....if the thread gets really big and there is a ton of interest then it will gain status to have it's own Forum
You could help your daughter even start it and come up with a cool name for it - then those wanting to keep in touch with it can subscribe....

But Sharon that sounds just too darn easy!!!!! And it would be violating that 18 and up rule. So as much as I like taking the easy route I don't think that would work. Well maybe it would for a little while until someone caught on.

Never thought of that - well - I guess this is an over 18 site and there is not much can be done about that....

The rule isn't 18 and up, it's 13 with supervision, 18 and up for regular members. This is from the Terms of Service

If you are older than 13 but less than 18 years of age, you may only use the Websites under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by this Agreement.

Thank you for posting the rule in full. I guess I was too lazy to look that up myself. None the less that still leaves out my under 13 kiddies.

I've got nothin' against kids, heck I've got a ton of 'em. But I don't see the need for a separate sub-forum.

What is it about Airstreams that's age-specific? If the kids have something to say that's Airstream related, let them participate as regular members. I'll listen.
