House/RV port Community

Thinking of relocating to a House/ Rv port type community. We were looking for some suggestions and recommendations for something like this. We want to stay south of the Mason/Dixie to avoid the winter weather. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There are many different places available. Look at Travelers Rest in Dade City Florida. For an upscale park you can look at The Great Outdoors in Titusville Florida. There are also Airsteam only parks.

There is such a wide range of parks. You will need to determine what type of park you are interested in and in what location. Florida, Texas and Arizona have many, many of these parks.

We're looking for a development that has either a garage or nice covered area for our Airstream.

Great Outdoors, as suggested above, has a wide range of facilities available in different areas of the subdivision from basic lots to large homes with RV garages. We have friends with a place there and they love it. When they come back in October we are going to go visit and check it out. You can see properties for sale on their web site.

This is in reply to those looking for an Airstream only park that is really inexpensive, but gated, place to winter. Zavalla, Texas has only about 700 residents, so no traffic to worry about and the sound of the birds is just about the loudest thing you will hear.

Texas Airstream Harbor is a great spot for snowbirds, and is located on one of the premier Bass lakes in the country. Birding is exceptional.

Assessments per lot are only $600 per year, that means if you park for 4 months the nightly cost is around $5 per night - PLUS you have a fairly secure spot to store your winter stuff you do not need for the rest of the year.

The $600 includes pretty much everything with 3 point hookup, except your private insurance and electricity.

Most of the lots already have permanent covers for the Airstreams, but even if the lot you choose does not have a cover installed, the cost to erect a metal cover is minimal.

See my signature line below for a link with pictures and maps.

Google Texas Airstream Harbor if the link does not work.
