I think the prototype is a 27 - 28 foot model. I hope they would also consider a 30 - 31 foot model a well.

A redecorated 27FB with some snazzy upscale fixtures. Good refurbishing ideas for an older one as well.

As others have noted, it's mostly designer decor - and that's great! Nice to have new choices. But what would be even more interesting is updated technologies. For example, better insulation, solar power systems, better communications capability, better windows, better tank measuring systems and things like that. I know - it's a small company with small budget so I don't expect blockbuster breakthroughs. I still hope they find some budget for technological advance too. This is a step in a good direction.

I know it's a personal thing, and also recognise that I'm sort of a traditionalist, but I don't care for the "look".

A big thing (mentioned in another thread) is that it has ducted AC. I didn't see a mention of anything to do with insulation, but that would be another good upgrade.

I definitely like the interior look.

What next? The executive jet or private railcar edition?

I think the viability of the company is always a question mark. Sometimes making "exclusive editions" brings notoriety, celebrity, publicity, awareness, and a certain cache to a product line. If that helps to sell all the regular trailers below it - whoopie!--celebrate because that is a good thing. OTOH, if it means they are going to make all trailers into Italian showpieces real people will be left out. That's a very bad thing.

I am guessing it is the former, not the latter. Let's see Airstream pictures in the newspapers and magazines and popular web sites. Let people know they are cool and oh yeah, "They are still being made right here in the US of A!"

Can't count how many times people ask me, "Oh? Are they still making those?"

I think management deserves some kudos for getting some good publicity and buzz.

Wow! It is so drastically different I can't even tell it's an Airstream! Oh wait, I can hear the water dripping from the pano window onto the front bed... yup, it's an Airstream!

Pap

Thanks for posting.

I like the idea of ducted AC. It is long overdue.

Gotta be some plastic fake wood in the bathroom shower. That is a bit over the edge to me.

I like the design in general. It is different.

I would also like to see state of the art developments in functional areas like insulation, insulated windows, disc brakes, etc.

Now, there's one reply that drips with sarcasm.

BTW, I am cordially inviting you to be on the maintenance panel at the rally I am planning for 2013. You obviously have had a lot of experience fixing things!
