My situational awareness informs me to stay or leave. Never has the thought of being armed crossed my mind. Situational awareness precludes the need for such a measure.

Until you are run off the road, carjacked, beaten, kidnapped and robbed.

The great thing is that if you do not want to carry, you don't have to. If you want to carry, there are ways, legally, to carry. When those who don't like guns need help, they call on those who do carry.

I guess you haven't heard of San Bernardino?
I have never owned a gun. Only handled them when I was in the military.
I just bought my first hand gun. Signed up for concealed carry class.
I hope I never have to use the weapon. But at least I will know how to use it if I have to.

We don't see a need for it and we're not new at this, camping for over fifty years, traveled the world, we have our guns at home for sport, fifty-eight years military service between us.

I believe once you start carrying a firearm you will feel insecure without it, no one is going to change your mind about it. I also believe you're much more likely to get in situation where you wish you hadn't brought it, than get in a situation where you wish you had.

To each his own.
