Globetrotter Restoration Now Progressing

Glad to report that my Globetrotter restoration is now progressing at a fast pace. As the Airstream is based in the Uk and is to be used there and Europe have had to fit mechanical, Europe specification, brakes which has also entailed an axle change. Hopefully will be on the road by Easter.

Very Cool. Is that a hydraulic braking system that is on the tongue? BTW, welcome aboard. Some more pix and background on your "New" trailer would be lovely...

It is a mechanical braking system operated by inertia as the caravan pushes forward under braking by the tow vehicle. It's the standard system in Europe where US electronic brakes are technically illegal, although lots of people ignore this. Our project is almost finished now. Click image for larger version

Hi Ruck. It is masking a refillable gas cylinder. I can take it to a gas station and fill it with propane from a 'gas pump'. Some cars in Europe run from propane/ butane and some of our gas stations dispense it. It's cheaper than buying bottled gas.
