For those of you into flamingos I was wandering around the World Market in Tucson today and they have a flamingo tree ornament. Kinda on the expensive side - mine cost $1.34 tax included.

Sorry but I'm the last person in the world who does not have a camera. Keep saying I'm gonna get one but then I'll just have to decide what kind, size etc and decisions like that are just too much. Maybe someday.

You may be the last camera hold out
But I will be the last pink flamingo hold out...
Sorry I just don't get it, and I don't think I ever will...
But It's fun to see others with them... Makes me chuckle and I like to chuckle..
This is not in a bad why please don't take it as such.

Jason - Don't feel bad. I don't really get it either, but it is tons of fun to have a few around and watch the effect on others . Some smile, some want to chat & some get that "What . . . . " look & walk on by. I prefer the smiles & chats .

Jason - there really isn't much to it. Flamingos are a pop icon dating back to the 50s. They started out as plastic lawn ornaments and were found everywhere - particularly trailer parks. Eventually all sorts of items were made into flamingos.
They are popular with Airstream owners for a wide variety of reasons. Besides just being fun, I guess one of the main reasons for their popularity is that flamingos are a nostalgic 'vintage-retro' sort of thing. I think there is also a bit of tongue-in-cheek 'trailer trashiness' about them too.
