Thanks Tom.
The one that I see once in a while is a flag on a wall and they have the field in the top right as viewed, incorrectly displayed.
Sandlapper makes a nice setup, easy to recommend. Now I just gotta get an Ohio flag later this month along with our side trip to Jackson Center.

I cannot find a clear etiquette for the flying the US flag with those of other countries on the "fan" type of display we get with our Airstream flag holders. If it's flown to it's own right, it will be lower than others. If it's in the middle at the highest point, it's not "in the position of honor - to its own right".
After trying these, talking to some fellow retired military like my wife and I, we fly it in the middle because that is the highest point which appears to be the position of honor here in this particular arrangement.
Any thoughts?

The center is the highest position so that is correct. Looking at the front of the trailer, the sequence would be 4-2-1-3-5 for a five flag setup and 2-1-3 for a three flag setup.

Richard, thank you, that's what we thought too. Do you have reference that shows or describes this particular "fan" arrangement?

Insert the shaft of the clip into the grommet on the flag and then into the hole on the pole. Swing the semi-circular wire thing around the pole and snap onto the end of the shaft sticking out of the pole.
Over the top of the pole (threaded area) I slipped a pvc endcap painted black. The endcap is topped with the brass ball drawer pull.

I had no problems ordering the Airstream flag from Airstream. I understand the flags were back order items for quite a while. The deep blue color is nice.

Interesting approach to the drawer pull and hitch pins, nice.

Finally some pics....
of the holder with the light. I tried several lights, including solar, finally settled on a low voltage (12v) fron Lowes. There are tons of styles to choose from.
Powered it from the 12v already on the jack post, using a automotive type plug. A switch could also be used. I just plug in in at nite, unplug in the am.

A few more pics
The "painter's pole" by MrLongArm. US made, aluminum, smooth skin. Part #9272. My favorite. Sold thru Home Depot, Menards, TruValue Hardware, some independent hardware stores. About 14 bucks. I like the nylon plug in the end
Lowes pole is their own Blue Hawk brand, #06034. A good pole, Chinese, fluted skin. Also about 14 bucks. You will need to knock the handle off the end.
Both collapse to 6', extend to 12'.
The hitch pin clip. Use one big enough to get the flag on the loop end, not so big it looks funny. For travel, I pull the bottom one off (with flag still attached) collapse the pole to 6', roll the flag around the pole. Goes in the back of the truck.
Works for me.

Sandlapper,
Nice holder if I must say-I purchased a preowned Airstream that must have one of your flag holders. I like the clamps (which attach the holder to the jack post) shown on this posting. May I inquire as to where you purchased them?
Thanks,
Curt

Curt, I make them as part of the holder. They are cut with a water jet from solid 1/2'' thick aluminum, then drilled and tapped. If you have one of my holders on your new trailer it should already have them on it. If it doesnt have them either someone "robbed" them or it is someone elses holder. There have been several makers over the years. The brackets are the best part of my holder. They make an easy, clean, niffty mount and provide clearance for the light, jack head and coupler latch.
Thanks................John
