Facebook funny of the day

On Facebook there is a person looking for a used travel trailer that has never leaked or been worked on. Delusional or a tent camper ready to move up without doing any research?

When I asked about leaks, the answer I got was "well, it's not leaking TODAY". Of course, it wasn't raining, snowing, but not raining.

I think there are sone recent AS buyers who actually believe they can buy used with no leaks and never worked on. Just read some of the threads on here!

They will learn, sooner or latter. Airstreams are like concrete. There are two kinds: Airstreams and concrete that do not have cracks (leaks) and Airstream and concrete that do. It is the nature of the beast. I had a good friend who flew B-24s over the "Hump" in India during WWII. He said the airplanes (also made with rivets) leaked so bad they wore their raincoats backwards to keep dry when flying through the monsoons. The saving grace later on was the advent of cabin pressurization that forced air out of the cracks to keep out the rain. I will give Airstream credit with their leak test during construction. The shell is usually intact without leaks, but the leaks later on come from all the holes they have to cut for windows, doors, skylights, vents, and other man made holes.
I use their Sealtec equipment every few years, but in between I occasionally get a leak.

Concrete always has cracks. The designs consider it as being cracked from the get go.

And your analogy still applies. It's a question of when, not if.
