F150 Unpainted

Has any Airstream owner or dealer considered going after their local Ford dealer and order a brand new aluminum body F150 unpainted to match their Airstream?? I suspect it will take a band of dealers and Airstream owners to get Ford to offer this choice.

Since it's not clad and the aluminum gets stamped for shaping it, it'd probably be a lot of work to polish it up. Plus all the welds and joints probably wouldn't look to good w/o paint. Though it would be interesting to see if someone could pull it off.

Ask Ford, they might...

I sat in this polished aluminum Ford Concept van at the Detroit Auto Show a few years back. It was a very shiny Ford.

Craig, if any truck maker thinks a Airstream look alike truck will make them money it will be done, in the interim don't hold your breath, just buy a silver truck like I did.

Why not a paint job that looks like riveted panels of aluminum?

Is the new truck body 100% aluminum or just certain panels?

What about all the plastic? The better option would be a wrap. And since I'm the kind of guy that already looked, I'll tell you.

Chrome cost on our ram $5500 and I found a stainless steel wrap to that could of been done for $7300 quoted in Florida.

A great question and I hope there is a lot of discussion on this one - especially between Airstream and Ford: a collaboration on an "Airstream F150" model would be super. Given the potential issues outlined by HiJoe Silver, perhaps a special paint job to mimic the 'Stream??
