Equipment Question

Hello All,

I am an Airstream Voyeur, and am enjoying surfing this and other Airstream resources. I have a question for the experts:

In several photos I've found, there is a more streamlined propane tank enclosure that wraps back to the front of the trailer. In those photos, I also notice a different style of stabilizers under the frame. I am wondering if they are aftermarket, or what. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll attach a photo.

Thanks,

Roy

Now that I look closer, it also has different wheels than I'm used to seeing on Airstreams (I like all three features.) What gives?

It's probably a European version in the photo you're showing.

Hi Roy
This is a European model. Lots of changes all over including a lighter galvanized frame which accounts for the shape of the LP tank cover. I would bet the tanks are not the same as US lp tanks.

I believe they are narrower than US also. Lots of improvements not seen as of yet in the US.

Air Stream being the premium brand that it is, I would think that the U.S. Airstreams should get these improvements also- especially the galvanized frame.

Design-wise, all three elements are improvements that really look good. I would hope the US market units would keep up with the modern looks available else ware, at least as an option.

Yes...one would think. It has been about five years but no sign of this to date.

Renault. This photo is a few years old and was posted by a new owner here on the Airforums from the UK. I hear they are very popular vans over there and i'm guessing same power but more compact than the Sprinter vans.
