Dripping Sound in New 2016 Flying Cloud

We have a 2016 - 25 FB Twin, Flying Cloud and while out on our maiden voyage last weekend we would hear a dripping sound coming from the ceiling area of the bathroom. We were running the heat pump and only heard it at night when all was quiet. There definitely was not anything dripping on the roof outside. The sound was near the directional vent of the ducted air in the bathroom. Any thoughts?

Was there water draining from the AC/HP drain tube coming out by the wheels on that side?

Good question....didn't think to look. Sometimes we don't know what we don't know.

I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to us on one of our first nights, and I tracked it down to the drain tube. Hopefully that's all it is in your case too.

Thanks. The noise is annoying. Did it ever go away?

I'm not sure. I will have to listen for it on our next outing that starts March 4th. It may just be that I started ignoring it once I realized it wasn't a problem.

Sometimes our shower will do that in the night. Like the water left in the hose makes it's way up to the head slowly........... Might be a possibility.

Mike....if you heard the dripping check it out before your next outing. It is just that if it is an uncontrolled leak it could cause much greater problems the longer you wait.

It rained that day, but not in the pm when we heard the noise in the middle of the night. There were not any tree branches above where we had parked so it wasn't coming from the outside.

The shower is separate and on the opposite side of the hall so could not have been the shower hose.

In that model, is the hot water heater under the sink in the bathroom? When we got our new 27' FC in 2014, there was a leak in the pex pipe connection - covered by warrantee.

VT Wanderer, the hot water heater is under one of the beds, not in the bathroom. I did call Airstream and they said to check the vent on the roof above the bathroom to see if it was caulked adequately. We checked the roof today and everything seems fine. Won't be out again until end of March. We now think as mentioned earlier in the thread that it's condensation from the HP running thru drain line which Airstream confirmed is located in this area. We just have to wait until next trip to see if we hear it again.

I would fill the water tank and keep all the fixtures closed. Then wait a while to see if the pump is turning on intermittently to rule out a plumbing leak.

Mike in addition to trying Ted's pump on pressure test, could you let us know how long you heard the drip? Seems like any condensate drip from the heat pump would not last more than 10-15 minutes after turning the HP off.

If it were me, I'd pull the ceiling A/C vents out and use a mirror and light to see if there is any water sitting up there or water spots anyplace on the interior skin. You could also stick your hand up there an feel around. BUT, it sounds an awful lot like the condensation hose from the HVAC unit on the roof.
