The vinyl wallpaper in old Aistreams develop a coating on them which makes it impossible to stick anything at all. Not even the stickiest tape. I guess cooking oils and whatnot. The kind of cleaning it takes to remove this patina is very hard and very time consuming work, there is a thread on it somewhere here. We have just chosen not to do it so far. Our AS is a 1988, we are the third owners, she came to us like this.
