Thank you Willb43, and Graysailor--your comments are much appreciated. Starting to lean back to the 25FB 2014. Have a week more to decide to drive the 1000 miles to get the Classic 08 ltd 30ft or the new 25FB.

You're welcome Luigi. We also looked at used, nothing wrong with saving $ if it works, but decided to go with the new one. I've had much experience with blue-water sailboats and the "2 footitis" syndrome some folks get when they think they just have to have a little more space. Smaller means fewer $ for fuel, maintenance, etc. I learned to travel for months at a time (2 up) on a Harley without hauling it or pulling a trailer. All the best on your final decision. Maybe we will meet on the road.

It was a grand experiment when we bought ours. We never had towed anything, never camped except for one miserable experience in a tent. Ten years later, it's still the best crazy idea I ever had. We don't use it as much as I wish we did, but when we do use it, there's nothing else like it.

I've traveled all over, owned more motorcycles than I can remember, 7 sailboats (including 3 for blue water). I'm 70 and we just bought or first RV. I don't know what you will do with yours, but I'm going to take mine with m.e. Hope you will not regret whatever choice you make.

Go to a taxidermist rather than an undertaker, and have yourself stuffed and mounted in your Airstream, so you can keep the next owner company even after you're gone!

I'm too ugly. Direct cremation is my choice

Fill my boots with sand
With a drink in my hand
Set me Up in the corner

So I can

Thanks WillB43, never got into sail boats, I, too, have had numerous Harley's since 1978, traveled the Sturgis route for 35 years, but always admired the Airstreams on the road. Promised myself when I turned 65 my next adventure would be an Airstream, so here I am knocking on the door of either a slightly used Classic 08 30ft or new 2014 Flying Cloud 25/27FB decision to be made in the next week on the private sale or which new one in the September arrival. Money good on either choice. Are you still riding the HD's?

I started this post "Cold Feet " one month ago, well things have changed since then-- today we put a deposit down and ordered a 2014 30FT Flying Cloud. Since this is our first RV of any kind I would say after looking for many a year and reading this forum, the time was right and we are in. As my spouse said it was time to start a new adventure.

The BBC in the UK had a TV show some years back titled, Things I wish I'd known when I was twenty. Older, in their 60's and up, people were talking about their lives and what they had learned and wanted to pass on.

One thing that stuck out was that the older the person was, the more often they said "Take more risks" or "I wish I'd taken more risks".

That has always stuck with me. We're still younger, but I am already kicking myself for not having started this adventure earlier in life.

That makes absolutely no sense to me! At this stage in my life, I'm amazed that I survived all the risks I took back then!

If I could give advice to my younger self, it would be: "Make sure you get the rewards commensurate with the risks you take." In other words, take risks in pursuit of a goal, not just risks for the sake of thrill-seeking.
