Carrying two bikes inside Bambi 16'

I wish to carry my bike. The Bambi came without bumper so AS rack is not doable. From reading here it is unwise to and a hitch receiver to the back of the AS. I am left with carrying inside as I cannot load to top of car. Does anyone know of a system where I could sand the bikes up in the "hall" inside the trailer? New to this any help well come.

I bought a 2-bike stand like you might use in a garage and put it in the hall. I put some heavy-duty screw eyes under the beds and used nylon ratchet straps to hold everything in place.

I've a good friend who carries his bikes in his trailer using a two fork locks mounted to a 2x8 that just sits on the floor the bikes are set up front to back in the trailer. The fork lock is something similar to this:

We use the Fiamma rack on our 16' International because it came with the rear bumper. I once noticed a thread here where someone had Airstream install a rear bumper on a 16' Sport so I know it can be done...
In spite of the failure of a Fiamma noted in a thread running on Airforums now, I would not hesitate to purchase the rack again...

I've been using this one for 7-8 years, hauled bikes thousands of miles. I use bungees to hold the bike in the rack. The rack can be held in place by ratches straps if you want to add tie down points. I leave mine loose on the floor setting on a mover's quilt, either in the hall or up front crossways. The only time mine moved is when I had to do an emergency maneuver to avoid another vehicle.

The fork blocks mounted to a 2 x are probably the easiest and cheapest and should work fine as long as you make sure they won't bounce around and rub against cabinets etc. You'll also have to secure the front wheels you remove.

E trailer also has a mount to allow you to fit a receiver style bike rack over you propane tanks on the trailer tongue.

Another option.I put a class 3 receiver on the front of my Silverado.I put my Thule rack in it and carry two bikes on the front of my truck. No problem whatsoever

I think either the 2" receiver on the front of the landrover or the 2 bike stand inside the trailer. Could go with the inside rack but lose my space inside the landrover. I like the bikes on the front of the truck because we mountain bike and need to bring them to the trail. Using the trailer to haul leaves going to the trail head by pedal power or putting inside the landrover.

We faced the same problem and solved it with folding bikes that fit in the back seat of our tow vehicle (see photo)

don't know what kind of bikes you have, but DH the avid cyclist and custom bike builder and restorer in the fam, shuddered to think of any kind of fork rack or rack frame not being permanently mounted to the floor inside the trailer.😬

We use two fork mounts with quick releases, on a piece of 1x4. Bolts are countersunk underneath so as not to scratch. Length of the board fits the space we use so no side to side movement. Board is fastened down with two bungee cords laced to tiedowns. Usually used in the back of the SUV, also fits many trailers. Not sure about OP's Bambi. Our bikes are carbon fibre Cervelos, so we aren't going to risk them bouncing around when underway.

You can get the rear bumper mounted on the 16' Sport at your nearest dealership. We asked about this when shopping for Bambi II, and the dealer said it could be done. Along with stone guards, which was something else we wanted.

There shouldn't be a problem. Our 2005 16' International came with the rear bumper and stone guards as standard. The bumper also provides some extra storage space, which is handy.

I haul many unusual bikes that don't fit in standard bike racks. I and have found a combination of foam blocks, moving blankets, and bungee cords to work best. One bike is easy, two bikes will require protecting the two from rubbing or hitting each other. A single bungee cord will keep the bikes from sliding especially if they rest against something in the front of the trailer. The forces on the bikes is much greater during braking than accelerating (at least with my diesel rig).
This option is inexpensive and infinitely flexible.
Please do share what your final choice is and how it works.

I carry bikes quite regularly. I guess I could use a rack but they are vulnerable to theft if I stop and I"ve seen too many bikes bouncing around on racks. My AS might be bigger than yours, but I put them between the bed and the wall and cushion them with coats, pillows, and blankets that I'm bringing with me anyway.

CanAm RV in London Ontario makes a rear mount rack similar to the Fiamma rack Airstream sells and they have a model that fits the Sport

We used to have the same set up with an Arvika rack on our Tab trailer. Works great!
