Campgrounds between Elkhart, Indiana and Jackson Center

We will be at Rally One in Elkhart then travelling to Alumapalooza in May. Any recommendations for where to camp for the 6 days between both rally’s? Hoping to hike and bike. With a long weekend in there we should book soon.

You could head west :60 to Indiana Dunes State Park (or National Lakeshore). Unique, and not too far out of your way. There was a good thread on the subject a few months ago...

Grand Lake St. Mary. You'll pass right by it.

The Ottawa Metro Park Campground (Allen County, OH park) is a wonderful campground that we stayed at the night after leaving the terraport at JC. It's right on the northeast end of a 15-20 mile paved bike trail that includes the Lima Rotary Riverwalk.

Tureky Run or Brown County Indiana State Parks. A little bit south of Indy, but worth the drive for the hiking and bike trails. + you have 6 days to kill.

If you like to hike then do check out Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. Lots of trails and wonderful hikes through canyons and creeks.

Our Unit has hosted several events at Turkey Run, always a popular spot.

You can make camping reservations from Reserve America:

Wapokoneta

KOA at Wapokoneta (Home town of Neil Armstrong and fantastic little space museum there)... stayed couple of nights - about an hour from Jackson Center.
