We bought ours from LL Bean. They are very comfortable, a little pricey, but worth it...

Yeah - oddly enough, we got these strongbacks at LL Bean (at their store) and tried 3 including their Zero Gravity. While lighter than Cabela's it still didn't do it for me compared to this. Everyone's mileage surely varies on this. Here's to happy camping sitting in whatever chair floats your boat. :-)

The only thing I have bought at L. L. Bean's store is a back pack on clearance for $15 that someone apparently had returned. It has "Astro Dan" embroidered on it. That is silly stuff right there. I should use that as a email address or forum handle. I refer to it as my Astro Dan bag. It might have cost $85-$100 or more without that silly embroidery on it. I wonder if I could find some Astro Dan chairs on clearance. Who is Astro Dan and what is the significance of that silly name?

Astro Dan sent you that bag from the future. Didn't you read the enclosed warning?

That's almost as funny as the time we moved into an apartment where the former tenant was named Johnny Armstrong. He had left a bunch of furniture and personal effects behind. We referred to a chair he left as "Johnny Armstrong's chair". Like, "I'm sitting in Johnny Armstrong's chair watching TV."

Sitting in my Zip Dee chair eating pizza-
It is most comfortable when I slouch a little and plant my feet squarely on the ground.
I want reviews of the add-on lounge...

How do I change my handle on here?
I could make it Astro Dan formerly m.hony...
Or Johnny Armstrong formerly m.hony...

Camping world trip did not impress me except the gci express telescoping pico type chair - it was a 30 dollar variety - I think if some if my family sat in it it may break
They make one more substantial in build quality for 60-80 bucks - actually this was pretty comfortable for a basic chair
All the zero gravity types they had there to me seemed poor quality
They had this one that was extremely comfortable but too bulky and frankly too ugly for me (see photo below) - hoping to find it in a different color
Target had a zero gravity that seemed much more solid build quality - I may consider that one but for me it did not strike me as very comfy and it was very heavy

I still think a good zero gravity chair is worth the little bit of space while traveling. Napping is great when available, reading works well, sitting up is easy. The only complaint is if you have a long night and don't plan your nap location, you may end up with a bit of a sunburn. Nice and comfy!

We have two of the add on Zip Dee Lounges. My wife is under 5' and petite. She sets in/on her chair, using the lounge add on, for hours at a time reading. I've never heard her mention being uncomfortable. However, I'm 6'2" and more than double her weight. I do not use the lounge attachments often. I use the chairs mostly with my feet on the ground. After an hour or so using the lounge attachment I get uncomfortable. My feet hang off the end so the frame digs into my ankles. For putting your feet up they are fine if you fit, though I don't think the Zip Dee lounge attachments are designed for reclined napping. There is no recline adjustment for the back and the back is short, so when I get sleepy I look like one of those bobble head toys you see in peoples cars.
We use the canvas folding chairs with a side table to drag around everywhere, to camp fires, happy hour, shared meals, etc. We have some folders with the plastic tube webbing that lay out flat for the beach. These get pretty beat up. I consider them to be "disposable" since they only last a few years.

My being 6'1" is a challenge as well - feet hang off many of the zero gravity chairs I looked at
I may go see if Costco has a zero gravity and give it a try here in my house
If that don't work I'll strap a lazy boy to the bed of the truck
This is the one I saw at CW and was very comfy - I just do not like the color or pattern - it folds up about same space as zero gravity

We have two Strongback chairs and have found them very comfortable, however, like others I have found their construction lacking especially for the price. We bought ours two years ago specifically for the AS, So they have not been over used or abused but this weekend a rivet broke to one of the crossbars, I will try and replace the rivet but if not I will look thru the thread for a new chair.

I can understand the height issue. You've got me by an inch, but sometimes the inch is a mile!
I got my zeros at Target about 8 years ago, and my heels on my boots are able to just barely catch the bottom bar, which actually helps emensly when going up or down.
I'm not sure that chair from CW would be comfortable for naps. It looks like feet would hang off and then it would cut into the back of your legs? Is the foot rest long enough?

I have been following along to see where you end up. I did a ton of research a year or so ago and ended up with Alps Mountaineering Lay-Z Recliner. Nothing more comfortable. A bit heavy at 21 lbs. but not too bad. We have 4 that we store under the dinette when traveling. Link: http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/al.../lay-z-lounger.

Our Lafumas are basic. We bought them at Relax the Back. My hub is 6' and his feet do hang off the end, but he uses the foot rest at the bottom.
