That is an intriguing anecdote! I will be testing one for sure

The three of us (wife, son and I) use the lower Eureka Curvy. We love them and they fold down very small (long & narrow). We prefer them lower for campfire sitting. Members of my extended family have some of the Eureka high back curvy's and they are quite comfortable as well.....just not the same "campfire position".

During longer canoe/kayaking trips or hiking/backpacking we take three of these. They are more comfortable than they may look and better than a log or the dirt after paddling for a few hours

They support 300lbs and weigh less than 2lbs.

unfortuately some of us younger folks can't get in and out of those lower chairs like we use to. Of course if they have an ejecting seat that might make a difference.

Completely understand, just showing options for some of us that can

I'm also revisiting the Kermit chair - pricey but what a wonderful appearing product - looks super sturdy

Regarding the joey - does it sink badly in dirt/grass? Read some reviews about the feet breaking and some quality issues - ?

The helinox and joey chairs look great - they appear to be identical

Camp Chair Mulling

This is the Eureka we have:

http://eureka-tent.shptron.com/p/cur...der-chair?pp=8

As for the Joey, I've not had any issues with ours. It does sink a bit in soft ground, no easy way to stop that with a leg base. We were on a beach in the Bay of Fundy this past summer (had a huge private beach to ourselves) and it did sink a bit, but I was just fine with that

Camp Chair Mulling

Nice. It hasn't bothered me to date but a good find. Just something else to carry and I like to keep in small and compact.

The interwebs are cool

It's something like 24mm electrical conduit

So wait - you have a joey and the low rider curvy?

Yes, Eurekas for the campsite, and the Joeys for lightweight kayak/canoe/bike/hike trips. I also pack a compact hammock from MEC in the AS. I'm considering upgrading to a Hennessy.

So to be clear - that low eureka sits pretty low - I think I will look hard at that one - could fit two in the front storage compartment in the AS I bet

I fit three in my rear 28 hatch, plus the Joeys, and my camping mat and could probably fit two or three more Eurekas...but I have rear twins.....LOTS of outside storage.

So you find the eureka more comfy vs joey? But joey more portable?

Yes, that's a correct assessment.
