Boatdoc on partial mend.
Hello Forum friends;
It has been over a year since my motorcycle accident and my recovery was quite difficult thus far. My left lung has lot of scar tissue from the three punctures and the three separated ribs are slow healing. Being used to feeling as a twenty year old until my accident, now after my accident at sixty six I feel very old. We did not do much camping this year because of it. Operating my business now is much more difficult for me as I am not as nimble as before. I was unable thus far to make any upgrades to my Argosy, but the hydraulic leveling system was built and tested. After Holliday's I will attempt to install it with the help of my employees by removing the belly pan first and attaching the four hudraulic pistons and lines. Hydraulic Pump will be installed in the linen closet in the bathroom. Remote control will have a external plug in connection. As the work begins I will post some pic's of work in progress.
In closing I wish all of you very Merry Christmas and may your feeling of
happiness stay with you all year. Thanks, "Boatdoc"

Nothing goes quite as fast as it used to
In ONE respect that's a good thing! (Ask MRS. Boatdoc)
In all others it's a pain in - well everywhere - but trust that you will continue to recover. A massage therapist could probably help with the ribs, but get one who works with Md's and therapists and is sensitive to the injury.
Learning how to teach and delegate instead of just doing it all yourself could be a good thing - after all there is only one "you". If you can get 3 or 4 mini-me's doing what you used to do, you'll actually start to like the results.
Hydraulic leveling system sounds very interesting. Hope to see it in action by spring. Pictures please!
Good to hear from you, keep up the good work. Paula

Glad to hear you are on the mend! Keep moving and things will get better.
I'm interested in seeing some pics of your leveling system being installed.

I'll second the opinion about getting helpers. I have a couple of minions that help me at the shop, where I used to be pretty much self-sufficient until my motorbike accident. I also found out the hard way I am no longer 25.
It'll probably be another year or more before you're as good as you're going to be. Working on your Argosy is good physical therapy, just don't overdo it.

Good to hear you are doing better, although not your former nimble self.
You are lucky to be alive. Embrace every day and every joy you can find in your life.
Take care,
Maggie

Boatdoc,
I was not aware of your accident, (off-line).
Stay positive, try not to push the envelope.
Keep us posted on the progress, both your recovery and the Argosy.
Happy Holidaze...

It is nice to see you posting again. I can't imagine the frustration of dealing with such a huge injury, and it's good to see you are making your way back to doing what you love. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and I hope you have a better new year ahead of you!
