Going to try fly fishing. But not giving up on sailing or golf just yet. But sailing that offshore stuff was something I swore off after the third day on the rail with a green face. Pat

Before RV's I was a sailor.
Moved to Florida, owned a series of small boats, met great folks, finally owned "Tropic Bird" for 10 years. A CSY 33.

Grew up sailing Cape Dory 25D in Rhode Island. Enjoyed racing Lasers and even little Sunfish on the Sakonnet River when I was a kid. Favorite brand? Hinckley.

It's been 5 years since prior post. Sailing replaced with RVing.
If you are still sailing, be careful - be safe. Pat

Been following this race....
Used to sail a Lightning with my Uncle years ago.
Never thought I'd see a monohull do this...580mi in 24 hrs.

Monohull
We too follow the Ocean Race and marvel at the speed and extreme sailing - and the team spirit on Malizia...
A long way in speed and style from our yacht we sailed in Northern Europe - UK S coast, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden - wonderful cruising areas. We sailed for 6 months at a time. Left the boat in Europe when we moved back to Canada and figured if we could survive 6 months cruising on a small yacht, we can do 4 months in a FC23! We were right...

Owned a 28ft Pearson monohull sloop for 17 years. Loved that boat and still miss owning a sailboat.
Now, we sail down highways with our Airstream, lol.
