Any more info on the Scout?

Any word on when more information will be available on the Scout? I don't see any mention on the AS site yet. I'm still partial to the silver twinkie, but if it's made out of composites and is light enough, and the pricing is competetive, I could see one behind my old Audi wagon in the near future.

On a side note, whats up with the stripper pole above the fridge? (Interior streetside on Flickr - Photo Sharing!)

Is this a fridge exhaust that doubles as a flat panel mount? Is it structural to hold up the upper cabinets or the composite roof?

The interior seems pretty nice. Lots of textures and materials blended together to give you a feeling of retro, yet modern at the same time.

If it sees the light of day

I think the Scout would be a better in one of the other Thor brands, Like the T@B and T@DA, looks to be made out of the same material as the T@B.

I think it would be a huge mistake to make a non-Aluminum Airstream and try to pass it off as a real Airstream. (Didn't they try that already???)

I agree with that. Do one thing and do it well.

I suppose they think the iconic name will generate the sales for them, and people will have quality in their heads.

But whether under Tab or something else, it's still a sharp retro trailer.

Non Classics models,
Let's see:

Land Yacht MoHo
Argosy/ Land Yacht Squareareams
Basecamp
Integrity by Airstream, 5 wheel
B- vans
Interstate/Sprinter MoHO's

Anything else?

Byam's Holiday, Wally made that one, does it count?

All the above are nice units anyway...

Well, on second thought, Even though Airstream is under the umbrella of Thor, they are still their own company. They've always been a niche player, and if they see the retro style Scout as a way to make money, they should go for it. So long as they don't lose sight as to why they've been around so long.

Besides, any experiments that work out will with the buyers interior wise may find their way into the main line.
