We're Dinks with two fur babies. We got married young and my parents thought it was a joke when we named our first dog Babie. Got tired of people asking, when are you having a baby, so we would just point and say "She is right there." 10 years in I spent the best $120 ever for the "snip" to insure our ability to travel. Doctor had a consult with my wife and I, asked how long we've been married "10 years", asked how long had we been considering this procedure "10 years", alright, sign here. Been married 15 years, my mom mentioned adopting the other day, I sent her a picture of our rescue dog we adopted 2 years ago.

I still say, my wife can't afford me and kids. I have expensive hobbies, old cars, traveling, camping and fishing. Luckily I grew up fixing things, so in my hobbies I buy cheap, fix, build and enjoy. That is why we have an '86 Avion instead of a new Airstream. But I am also mid restoration on a 1950 Pontiac Wagon and a 1947 Pontiac Torpedo.

I dream of full timing, but honestly need the shop space to create things or I would go nuts. I just need to figure out a way to work for myself 8 months a year building things, then travel 4 months. That sounds perfect to me.

Younger DINKs here - in the 30's and 40's age-wise. No Airstream just yet, but hopefully soon. No plan for kids either - who knows what the future will hold for us?

Don't wait too long. If you know you enjoy the camping lifestyle and want an Airstream don't wait any longer than you have to. It's an active lifestyle: even setting up camp requires mobility and a surprising amount of effort. We're in our mid fifties and in pretty good shape, but occasionally can't do all of the things that we want too. We're at Acadia National Park right now and it is awesome. But we would have missed so much if we only could have driven the park loop road.

Yes, we are DINKs. I haven't used the DINK acronym in a while but it does come up periodically among a few couples we know that are also DINKs. Two of the three couples are currently DINKERS and the third couple is working on joining the DINKER club soon!

There's another forum owned and operated by Social Knowledge Communities (the same owner as Air Forums) that focuses on early retirement. Excluding the no kids aspect of life they refer to early retirement as being FIREd (Financial Independence Retired Early)

Its great to hear from other folks who are around our age (early-mid 40s here), and who enjoy their Airstreams. For obvious reasons, the lifestyle seems to lend itself to retired folks, so we often feel like kids when we're out camping. Then again, we often camp and use our Airstream at vintage races where our best friends are all in their 70s!

At any rate, we're DINKs, with three dogs, a bunch of chickens and three horses. None of the "kids" usually come camping with us, except when I use the Airstream to camp at the horse shows. Then I obviously have a horse and usually at least one dog!

For now, we usually take the Airstream for several long weekends a year for DH's car racing (he mechanics for a 1960 MGA) or my horse shows (I show dressage). And we try to get away for a week long trip every year, but that doesn't always work.

This year, we're heading out for our longest trip yet, and taking 3 weeks to see Glacier, Teddy Roosevelt NP and the UP of Michigan. So. Excited.

Dinks here too, with a pitbull, an american bulldog, and three cats. We are rebuilding a 68 overlander and plan on traveling all over. We are in our mid-30s and live in south florida. We take weekend trips to the keys and often times stay an extra day or two. I still tent camp in the everglades every winter with the guys. The wife and I are looking forward to some long trips in ous AS.

We're DINKs! DH is 37, I'm 32. (But feel a lot older most days thanks to a health issue, so many of the lifestyle tips on here are right up my alley!) We run a small software business.

We got married in our mid 30s, which seemed a little late to plan for a family. Self-employed, and working together makes planning our vacation time pretty easy. Now in mid 50s we’re hoping to retire very soon.

Not sure how often we’ll use our newly purchased shiny house. It looks like it will replace our old accommodations in an annual 10-day event each July. Perhaps it will be our escape to warm weather in February most years. We also take extended road trips every 2-3 years. Perhaps we’ll use it on a long weekend from time to time.

We were DINKs but decided a few years ago, while still in our very early 50s to get out of the rat race, sell everything, and become nomadic. After 4 years of research and getting rid of stuff, we decided on an Airstream as our new home and had our tow vehicle custom built.

We have now been on the road for just over a year. We are both currently receiving incomes from our seasonal jobs in Yellowstone National Park, so I guess we are seasonal DINKs. So far, we have barely touched our savings. Retirement income is still several years away, so we are living frugally, yet we are quite happy.

Me and my bubbie are also DINKS. We are 50 and 51. Both working full time, for now, but in a couple years plan on retiring. I'm a flight attendant and husband is a firefighter. We are in the middle of redoing a '73 Excella so we can get on the road and see some beautiful sights in North America. Looking forward to meeting up with other double Income no kids air streamers and air streamers in general, when it's all finished.
