Ants and Mice

We are heading to Florida on the maiden voyage and while trying to get educated on trailer life, we came across a gross picture of ants on the power cord to the trailer.

Is this common?

And how about other bugs? We have a 2019 International 25FBQ and it seems like things are quite sealed. Can the bugs get in other than the door/windows?

Does anyone have any products they recommend if you think they are really needed?

Thanks.

Mice and ants will find a way to get in.

When ants and other bugs are particularly active, I sprinkle diatemacious earth around any ground contact (tires, jack, shore power cord, hose).

Otherwise, never leave food out stored in the trailer for long periods of time. Clean spills and messes promptly and get a mean cat. Brass wool shoved in cracks and crevices will keep mice at bay but it doesn’t take much of a space for them to get in.

Also, make sure tree branches/leaves are not touching the roof, good path for ants there.

FYI there have been quite a few threads about mice/rodents:

https://www.google.com/search?q=rode...=airforums.com

In a recent one, a product called Fresh Cab was recommended, and we seem to be having good luck with it so far during winter storage:

Sorry no info on ants personally, but FWIW:

Have a great trip, and welcome to the forum!
