We haven't camped with our daughter yet but this Pete the Cat original with our previous Airstream hangs in the hall outside her bedroom as a motivator.

We are rebuilding a 33'er specifically so that we can go on long vacations to Provincial and State parks with her. Permanent bunk beds and storage for things she collects along the way. :-)

It seems like a great way for her to see North America and meet new friends.

Our 67 is at the cabinet shop getting some cabinet work. Went by today and they were getting ready to install a bunk for our daughter. She wanted to know if she could sleep in it yet. Kids make even the smallest things important. Looking forward to when she gets to use it.

Truckasaurus, we love Pete the Cat. Eric Litwin visits our school regularly. Great stuff.

M. Nolte, bunks rock! Kids rock even more!

Thanks Skatiero! I think we are near you at Canopener, I would love a tour of the bowling alley/bunk house if you don't mind.

Trucksaurus - I just noticed you are from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. You wouldn't happen to know Ken and Carol Pugh, would you? They are also from that area and are an awesome couple.

Hi from AZ. . .I went across the country with 2 teenage boys (my son & nephew) several years ago, & I handed them the AAA tour book for the route & said what do you want to see ? They picked some things I wouldn't have thought of (Cadillac Ranch ?) & we had a great time. Just an idea, be safe out there, Craig

Hello all,

Starting think Children Activities for Canopener, and wanted to see what kind of things have been done in the past at other Rallies. So throw your ideas out there!

Bicycle parade, dance (hoping Pizzachop will attend again,) shelling day, etc..

Silverflames,

Having never been to a rally, I don't know what is common; but pinterest has a ton of ideas. Like: kids cornhole tournament, scavenger hunt, painted sticks or rocks, campfire stories, stargazing for any astronomers out there, marshmallow/toothpick build off (I love this one, its like a redneck kinex set), card games...

I don't know how the rallies are organized; ie-if an individual camper decides to do an activity or if it is a planned group thing, or if there are known kid counts and so on. But if someone will provide direction, I will be happy to assist however.

My granddaughters, aged 9, go with us at times and always have a great time. It is awesome when they do find other kids their age. We even have several other grandparents that bring their families with g'kids and they all get along great. One time they were going from one camper to the other and we asked what they were doing. Turns out they were trailer hopping and doing different activities in each one. Thought it was a novel idea!

Pharmgeek, you will like Chester Frost Park in Chattanooga. It is one of my favorites in town. The Lookout Mountain KOA has lots of kid activities too and we have started going there more. We will actually be at Tybee Island for the Pirate Festival next weekend and that is one of our favorite places to go. One of my granddaughters has decided that Tybee is where she will get married.

Another rally where there will be lots of kids is the Falluminum at Hiawassee Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, GA on October 24-26. Our granddaughters will be in attendance. Come on over!

Yes, we did meet. I will be there this time with our "new to us" 1976 27 footer. Still have the Excella for now though.

What are you going to do without all the kiddos?
