Kinda funny how once folks switch over to "the Mac side," they don't go back.... The MacBookPro (MBP) is my first, and I am lovin' it!

Splain Lucy

Hi, a few of us are not from the computer generation. I sold Mac tools for eight years and used them too. Is that what you mean by Mac?

Mac is an Apple product and PC means Personal Computer; So if the Mac belongs to you personally, not the company you work for, then that would make it your Personal Computer, right? Is this like, "I own an Airstream" and everything else is an SOB? But in reality they are all still travel trailers and pretty much do the same thing?

Splain Lucy? Ed-ju-mi-kate mee pleeze!

That sounds like a way to ruin a perfectly good Mac!

I have a four or five year old Dell laptop with XP which is still doing the trick for me. But I refuse to move on to Vista, windows already tries to do too much stuff I don't ask it to do, and I know Vista is even worse, so when the time comes to upgrade I might have to take a serious look at Macs. Or perhaps an alternative OS.

We have a 15" iMac in the Safari with bluetooth keyboard and mouse for computing and DVDs.

We have a 24" iMac at home and each travels armed with an iPhone. So I guess you might consider us Mac fans.

Macbook Pro (for A/S travel - got to have it), iPhone, iMac at home. Used to be an engineeering consultant with Apple in the late 80s/early 90s. Late 90s had to use PCs for business, but now switched back to macs. No system crashes, no windows, no Vista, and yes I am an artist/photographer now.

We are going to get the AppleTV and transfer all our DVDs and music, then just take it from the house to the A/S when we travel. Everyone I have showed my Mac to on the road, loves the ease of use, and since I am a photographer, the iPhoto (comes with Mac) and Aperature (bought separately) are the only way to go. I have thousands of photos cross referenced in iPhoto and have all my photos on an external hard drive to grab and go from the house to A/S as well.

Had to use PCs for years, once the Intel chip went into the Mac, I was there putting the cash down.

Bought a Toshiba in Oct 07, iPhone Nov '07 and a MacBook in Feb 08. The iPhone goes better with a Mac and I doubt if I will ever buy another pc.
