I haven't done any serious damage while working on the AS yet... just the usual contortions trying to make plumbing repairs in the bathroom...drew a little blood on some other projects with it... The (hopefully) attached picture shows the pins in my broken wrist gained while trying to crank start my 1914 Model T... she was in a foul mood that day... Shortly thereafter so was I!

Great thread!
No confessions needed by anyone....but I often wonder how many of these involve alcohol.
More please. (Stories, not alcohol )

Strangely enough, none of the injuries I have inflicted upon myself have involved alcohol ingestion. Maybe that's where I go wrong...

I dislocated my shoulder while polishing. The polisher caught on the awning rail & went flying along with my arm that was was gripping on it. Thankfully, I didn't fly off the ladder too! I'm polishing my 2nd trailer right now & am pretty cautious, especially since I'm using a more powerful grinder this time! I always keep a cellphone in my pocket--just in case.

Ouch!!!
I've only hand-cranked a T once and it was perfectly tuned and warmed up. In fact, my neighbor shut it off specifically for me to have the privilege. So, no kickback. However, I remembered my father's stories and kept my thumb over my knuckles and not around the crank handle, just in case. The directly coupled hand crank has a vast potential for problems, to put it mildly.
I've worked on 800 CID Minneapolis Moline engines that had a, huge, hand crank. Never even came close to trying that.
Back to the thread, I still bump and bring blood to the top of my head on the door every now and then. I've been living in one of my Airstreams for 7 or 8 years now and I just don't get it sometimes.

The worst so far are finger cuts similar to Lumatics from the edges of the drip molding on the windows when I am applying Walbernize in the spring and fall. I've rounded the sharp edges off with a Dremel and so far so good. The other little nasties are the sheet metal screws that hold the window frames - they are too long and VERY sharp. In BOTH cases, there was no alcohol involved, but plenty of potty words!

No matter, never could type very well. Makes you appreciate opposable thumbs and a little common sense.
PS My grandfather had a similar run in with a Model T crank too

My father did as well. No broken bones in his case, but he was in a bit of pain for a few days.
