Airstream Life Magazine - Yes or No?

Hello Airstreamers,

New member here. Contemplating the purchase of an AS trailer. Do you recommend this magazine? Helpful for someone in my shoes?

Thank you. Wally

I just put my issue down. We have subscribed for about 6 years. The magazine is NOT over run with advertising and has good articles.

I subscribe to the magazine and enjoy reading it. As far as "helpful," I dunno. The magazine seems to be more about communicating the ambience of Airstream than anything else. It compares more with "Via," the magazine of AAA, than with "Sunset," for example.

No, I will not renew. But you should try it for yourself. If you are really on the fence, there are usually several copies at our AS dealer. Maybe there will be at yours too and an hour of light reading might help you make up your mind. Besides, you need to spend time sitting in a lot of ASs to find the one that is the perfect coach for your lifestyle. Pat

I purchased the online edition last year but forgot to renew this year. Its a nice magazine about Airstream lifestyle with a few technical articles but they are pretty basic so its more about entertainment than technical knowledge advancement.

No, to me it has way to many ads and not enough DIY tips for owners.

Yes! I pretty much read it cover to cover, but especially enjoy the design stories and pieces on the history of various Airstream years and models.

Yes, I really enjoy it. Some issues are more relevant to me than others but I find something good in all of them. My wife and I do really, really, really miss the Mr. & Mrs. Tin Hut articles however. (See older issues) Rich are you listening?

It's like Playboy, I read it for the articles, not the centerfolds :-)

My subscription is strong and long, and it don't give me any friction.

You'll love it.

During our research phase and after we determined that only an Airstream would work for us, we bought the entire package of back issues. Just like this forum, over the years Airstream Life has covered almost every topic. We now get both the electronic as well as the digital issues going. This has saved us many dollars and hours beyond the expense of the magazines and helped us in selecting our first (and second) Airstream.

We ran into Rich Luhr, the editor, while traveling this past year. We'd not yet taken receipt of the Serenity we had on order, but had subscribed to his magazine prior to placing the trailer order. Our conversations were great.

Rich and his family live the Airstream life. It may be their business, but I was left with a strong impression that this is also a passion.
The magazine is low key, inexpensive, and worth subscribing to in our opinion. We just renewed, adding the online option.
