Airstream Jam Rally?

Dave and Nancy from Oregon started a thread recently mentioning they take their guitar and keyboard on the road. As a bass player myself, I'm curious if there are any music jams across the country specifically associated with an Airstream rally? I've participated in bluegrass jams and gospel jams but haven't seen any Airstream Jams. I'm certain there are other players out there who might enjoy such a rally. Here on the East Coast we have access to many bluegrass festivals...any some are held at campgrounds. Any interest?

Yup! I'm in the Midwest and have often wished there were such a thing as a 'Jam Rally'. I would love to participate. I am into everything from jazz, to big band, to country, to old-school rock & roll (50's-70's), to contemp. gospel, and everything in between. If ever such a get-together were to be arranged, within a few hundred miles of me, I would certainly be up for it. I figure this site is a good place to monitor for such a rally.

Anywhere I go…..there I am

Where ever I be….is an Airstream jam.

But seriously, There is often a small group of Airstreamers camping together at Greyfox Bluegrass Festival. However, Greyfox is a difficult fest to get a spot that you want.

You could count me in, too.

It's funny that in the last 20+ years, I've always taken an instrument with me camping, and exactly twice I've seen someone else with an instrument. One time a guitarist stumbled into my campsite where my son and I were playing and demanded to play: it was a great evening. Another time--back in December--I approached a guy sitting outside playing guitar to see if he wanted to play. Between the time he said yes and the time we arranged, a nasty cold front blew in and it was too windy and too cold to play (and I own a Sport 22, so too SMALL).

But that's my dream. A gypsy jam. I'd love to join y'all.

May 22-25 is Jamfest - a rally by the New England Unit in New Hampshire. A complete blast last year!

Calendar is here: http://newengland.wbcci.net/calendar1/

I would have to imagine other units do something like this.

Good luck!

All that money in stringed instruments ... wasted!

Not a single mandolin or banjo in the bunch. (OK, I know you might've kept them "off stage," but that's just downright prejudiced.)
