Very interesting. Thank you for posting this. I wonder if the service center will be expanded.

Sounds like another production assembly line. I haven't seen the factory, only one line now?

They need a quality control person.

That is good to hear. I am sure it will be good for the area. Seasonal work would be nice. I could see spending a few months of the year up there.

Sounds like they think the economy for buying double price trailers is much better than I think it is. They must also believe that the EPA mileage requirements will not cut the size of the tow vehicles.

With over 1000 back orders on trailers and over 400 vans they must be doing something right.

How come they need twice as much space to produce 50 trailers per week?
In the 60's and 70's they were building 110-120 trailers per week in the present factory.
Granted, they didn't have 40 floor plans and the trailers weren't nearly as complicated-

Sounds like a positive move to me. Good to see them reinvesting in the company a little. You guys would complain if Santa Claus expanded his shop and hired more elves.

Need more space because the new 34' Classics are so long, plus new lightweight 25's they will build there. Maybe?

They're getting like Apple, secrecy until the day of sale so people can't criticize it before it happens.

Not likely. Oak, then hickory, I think we'll see veneers of varying shades so they don't have to outsource them.

I like my hickory cabinets. Thank goodness I don't have brass hardware and mirrors and pink carpet and mauve Airstream logos and magenta/fuscia stripes and busy wallpaper like one I saw at the service center. Would that have been from the early 2000's? I think so as it was a 34' slide-out. What were they thinking? Why did it take them so long to get out of the 80's? At least we can say the nee designs are within or ahead of the times.

Well there could be folks who have brass hardware and pink carpets who hate hickory cabinets. There's no right or wrong here...

I think they will need an expanded warranty repair facility also.

Interesting. They currently produce 2500 units a year and have an 1100 unit waiting list (primarily dealers). A fifty percent increase would be 3750 units on an annual basis. I don't see any immediate recapture of the investment unless prices increase at the same time.

Of course the new car commercials towing Airstreams and the growth of retiring boomers might be assuming that all of the Harley Davidson riders will shift to an Airstream like I did.
