Air Forums First Thread

I was searching around for the very first Air Forums thread and think I found it here... http://www.airforums.com/forums/f437...cement-36.html Axles...go figure!

In two more days, it looks like it's been 13 years to the day since that thread was started. It also looks to be very soon that the forums will reach the 100,000 member mark...less than 4000 to go for that.

I just wanted to say thank you to Andy R for starting this whole thing. It's been an indispensable resource for everything Airstream!

I joined in June of 2002 (wow, almost 13 years ago) and had already had my new to me Airstream for a year. The forum members were an amazing amount of help as I totally renovated that trailer. I couldn't have done it... correctly, without this forum. Thanks to all... and yes, I did swap out my axles way back then.

What would the right tow vehicle be for me? Just teasing of course.

I guess I never realized I came along so early. If this forums hadn't existed, I doubt I would have had the guts to go buy an Airstream. I knew nothing about camping, RVs, or towing, I just knew I had survived restoring a Mustang and I loved old stuff, and my husband swore he would never spend another night in a tent! I could not have picked out my trailer and restored what it needed and picked out a TV and learned to tow it without all the help and the friends I met in real life because of it. We are heading into our 12th year with our Airstream, and I have no regrets. Plus, I can also say AndyR is a straight up good guy. Thanks for giving us a place to hang out and pursue our silver dreams

They did start the first tire and rim debate though... It goes ALL the way back!

-Red, glad mandolindave finally checked in...
