We have never regretted the factory options, and have used every one of them. We added/upgraded several non-factory items as well over time as we became familiar with it during some 1400 days/nights we traveled in it.

Airstreams have lousy seating comfort, basically a plywood bench with thick foam pads, except for the Classic model, which has a sofa. We took our Airstream FC25RB back to Jackson Center and had the seating changed to recliners, a center console, folding table, and storage cabinet installed. This conversion can only be done on the 25 Rear Bed model because the furnace location prevents it on 25-27 Front Bed models.

Our Airstream 25RB is a queen bed model, we put a Sleep Number RV Queen Radius Corner mattress in it and loved it. Some people don't like the East-West orientation of the bed which makes access more difficult for one person. Consider the twin bed model if you believe this may be a problem.
Just purchased 25 FC rear twin, do you recall what it cost to have the couch conversion you described.

This is something we want to do with our 25' Flying Cloud. Thanks!
The recliner was purchased from Lambright Comfort Chairs. They do not have internet connection so you need to talk to Vernon Lambright directly. He can be reached at (260) 768-4820. It took about 4 weeks after date of order and it was shipped directly to us in two pieces that we assembled.

The recliner is a wall hugger unit and can be covered in most any covering. We chose an Ultraleather fabric.

If I can be of further assistance let me know.

Bob

Looks like they sort of have an Internet presence through a distributor.

Hi

There's nothing wrong with going through the decision process with the resources on the web. I would strongly suggest that if at all possible, find a dealer with inventory. Head over to their lot, even if it involves an overnight trip. Spend lots of time in each of the candidate models. If you think a 25 to 28 makes sense, look at the 23's as well. Take a look at the 30's. You may well decide that your original 25' decision was the right one. After spending time in each of them, it will be a much better informed decision.

We asked Jackson Center to use the production line folding table and center console for the Airstream 30 Recliner, plus make a custom cabinet under the TV, which also covers the converter/charger. We wanted a factory look to perfectly match our interior, and it did. It was about 1 1/2 days labor for one tech and the rest was materials, Villa International recliner chairs, cabinets, plywood and hardware totaling about $4200.

This made our Airstream absolutely comfortable for our 6-7 months travel each year. Only the 25 Rear Bed models have the clear space for this conversion, and they may have moved the converter/charger since our 2012 FC 25RB. The plywood has also changed finish, and the production line no longer produces a recliner Airstream. They may have the templates though, give the Service Center a call.

Here's some in-process photos we took of the conversion.

Back in the 2013 model year, the twin bed option did not exist for the International trim line models unless one paid around $4,500 for the after build swap out. Now it is a no charge option at build time.

As a Monday morning quarterback, I sometimes wonder if we had originally acquired the 25FB International Serenity with twins if we would still have that 25FB today. We would have certainly done something to improve the dinette and the "cushions" along the lines of many the ideas folks have presented on this forum.

We really like the twin bed option in our Classic for both the storage and ease of access.
