Angry AB Lifestyle Linens

After talking with an AB Lifestyle representative,I ordered sheet sets from AB Lifestyles before our 2016 Flying Cloud 25 twin arrived and after a few trips found they don't fit the new mattress size AS is putting in their units. Our mattress is 8 3/8" and AB Lifestyle's AS sheets are made for 7". When I ordered them I wasn't told that AS made changes in their 2016 units and I needed to measure the mattresses before I ordered them. If I had known this I would have waited until our unit arrived and measured the mattresses. So beware of ordering from AB Lifestyles, unless you measure your new mattress, and pay extra for it to be made to fit. Now I have water proof mattress pads and sheet sets that won't stay on. I really am pleased with the quality of the linens but they just don't fit.
Any suggestions?
Does anyone know if AS's sheet sets are made for the new 2016 mattresses or what depth their sheets sets are? Looks like I will be ordering linens from them.

I had never heard of that brand. I have twins and was interested in sheets. They sure aren't cheap.

We got our FC20 mattress pad and sheets from AB Lifestyles, and were happy with the quality, prices and service. Sounds as if there was a hiccup in the communication process here (incl. AS changes in specs), and it is likely that AB will rectify the situation IMO.

AB AS items

As is true with many purchases, it is best to have an actual object in-hand (mattress) before ordering components to fit it, as the manufacturers change specs. all the time, and not even specialized after-market suppliers like AB can keep track of all the mfg. changes. (Nor should we expect them to IMO.)

PS -- Here are the search results for other posts about AB Lifestyles, in which there appear to be many happy campers:

We ordered the standard twin set for our 2016 FC and they fit fine, even after adding 2" of foam padding.

I called them and explained the situation but will do nothing except offer to sell me new linens.
I know they can't keep up with the specs, but they said I am not the first with this deeper pillow top mattress. Just wish it had been suggested that I measure before ordering. Paid a lot for linens and pads that won't stay on and end up in a bunch every morning.

Hmmmmm....I just ordered and received sheets and a mattress pad from AB last week. During the order process they had me double check, by measuring, the thickness of the mattress. Also, I e-mailed Airstream to get the dimensions for my new FC 20 and then shared the information with the lady at AB as an extra precaution. I haven't put them on the bed yet but will do so in the next few days and let you folks know if there are any challenges.

Texan64, sorry to hear this. Mention was made here of some elastic "suspenders" which people add under the mattress to tighten up their standard fitted sheets (not AB), so maybe they would help? Not the best solution I know . . .

Seems like you got caught in a tight spot and maybe (with hindsight) would have benefited from waiting to order. Still not fun . . .

PS -- I seem to recall that Kmart or Walmart had the "suspenders," so maybe an easy solution is available. Amazon has some too.

Maybe not helpful, but I've had good luck getting the Target Threshold brand sheets for our short queen. I buy the regular queen size sheet set and the fitted sheet is designed for either deep or regular mattresses and has an extra elastic corner making them more versatile. The twins make work for you and I imagine are much more affordable.

We have a set of AB Lifestyle sheets for our FC 20' FB and they fit really well but also love organic cotton sheet set ( in colorful prints) ordered from Garnet Hill catalogue. The fitted sheet from Garnet Hill actually fits even better than the custom sheet from AB and really like color selections which change seasonally.

I ran into a similar problem with them a couple of years ago(and posted about it.) I ordered sheets and the fitted ones didn't fit properly because I had a 3" mattress topper. OK, I can see where I should have considered the topper and inquired first. I emailed them about it and they said they don't allow for a topper but would have accommodated it for $10 if I'd notified them in advance. I suggested they list the thickness of the mattress they design for on their web site. They said they'd talk to the web folks about it. I guess they never did.

The top sheets and blanket that are only fitted at the foot work great- they never pull out.

We just bought a new 2015 FC 23D last December. It is still at the dealer getting some work done. Any idea of how thick the mattress is?

I have nothing but good things to say about AB Linens. I had custom twin mattresses made for our Argosy MH, I gave them the dimensions (which are close but not the same as modern Airstream twins, and custom thickness as the beds are also a dinette). AB Linens made mattress protectors, sheets and provided a custom cover/sham set (with two king size shams per cover).

I do use 'suspenders' from Walmart to hold the mattress protectors, but that is more so the protector stays in place when the mattresses are out of the MH (I don't leave them in during the winter).

I struggling to understand why they are getting 'kicked' because Airstream changed something and didn't tell anyone? If you tell them what you want, they provide it

I use regular twin sheets, thick mattress size. High thread count from Bed,Bath,Beyond. To keep stuff in place I bought these little plastic clips (Sheet Grips)that go over the sheets, etc and slide onto the bottom edge cord of the mattress. Two per side. On the wall side I even clip the top sheet so that it doesn't pull out. Works great.

Fitting Sheets

I ordered sheets for my 2016 Cloud from A & B Linens. I was not aware
of the thickness of mattress for ordering. Will be fitting them this next week and I'll report my findings on fit. By the way I have Twins....

We recently orderd sheets, etc for or new 26u with twin beds from AB and everything fit just fine. Hopefully, putting everything together will become easier over time. I was about ready to throw the mattress in the yard and wrestle with it where I had some room!

You can also look for AB sheets on Craigslist, etc.

FYI AB Lifestyles has a new Airstream catalogue out:

Our mattress pad and sheets have held up well. [Post #3]

Happy Trails for the summer season!
