hi all...
while not a/s specific,
we've had an occasional discussion here related to getting or keeping medical health insurance...
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f314...aze-39404.html
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f161...nce-37665.html
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f314...ons-28627.html
usually the focus is...
1. getting
new insurance when NO CURRENT coverage is present or...
2. full timing/ moving to another state and keeping or
changing coverage...
3. what to do
keep coverage when current insurance is LOST due to job or marital changes...
4. what coverage to get when
self employed
5. what to do after retirement but
before medicare starts...
we've provided each other some good info in the threads listed above...
and especially when the
political rhetoric is minimized...
occasionally the suggest is to 'visit the escapees' website on insurance.
well i recently read/reviewed EVERY thread on the E site, and really there is NOT much useful material posted there.
i did however find a website in both a ny times and wash post insurance article that EVERYONE should know about.
Health Insurance and Coverage Help for Consumers Everywhere
this appears to be a NON PROFIT site that focuses on providing...
free RESOURCES, basic and detailed INFORMATION on health insurance...
simply click on the STATE u live or plan to live in, and a nice GUIDE for that area is available for download...
the website also has many other guides/resources and links on...
-consumer protection
-rights to coverage
-records privacy
-the billing maze/negotiations
-high risk state sponsored plans
-low income coverage options
-self employed insurance options
and so on...
the site focuses on issues for the u.s.a. only, so lets not start another border debate.
i reviewed some (not all) of the available material and it is very credible and up to date.
so for those of us with HEALTH INSURANCE QUESTIONS or NEEDS this website is an excellent first stop.
cheers
