2020 updates

I know this has been discussed a little bit, but just wondering if anyone has any credible information on model updates for 2020. Especially anyone who may have recently ordered or purchased one. Airstream's "Fresh Air" site is still not showing 2020 product updates.

All I have been able to find are the Globetrotter 23FB, Bambi, and Caravel. Just curious if Airstream is updating any interior colors, appliances, or systems in the Flying Cloud series.

As I recall, in the past these changes were made public shortly after the annual dealer's meeting. Maybe they are waiting for the existing '19 inventory on dealer lots to be reduced.

For the FC, the Stove and Stereo are now Furion.

Not sure if this is across the other models.

Not quite right, the cooktop is Furion with a glass top. The stereo is now JL Audio for most models, the premium audio for Classics, etc. is the Fusion (that might have been the confusion), Fusion is made by Garmin and is a good product.

JL Audio is also very good - we had it in our boat. Basically, Clarion and Polk are out - JL Audio and Fusion are in.

Take a look at the Colonial Airstream site, they have 2020 FC's in stock and you can look through the pics and see the cooktop and the new cover on the audio head.

Safe travels...

Not fans of the new stove top design

Not sure we're a fan of the new stove design - seems like a pot could easily be knocked off. I have heard some folks like this design though.

Same stove as our 2016 Classic. Not a fan. Yes, pots can tip from the small grates if not perfectly centeted. Can't use anything but a small pan on the two rear burners because they are too close to the hinged cover, forcing big pans onto the high btu front burner that fails to work when camping at altitudes of over 5000 feet. Looks good. Functionality not so much.

Same stove as our 2019 Classic. Wife does not like the design, says things are very tippy. Wish there was a simple way to change it.

Here's the latest and greatest off the Airstream site. Several interesting changes here.

Just picked up our 2020 Caravel 19CB and, despite some minor QC issues, we couldn't be happier with it. The interior we chose was Tungsten, which is all the same as the Pewter but the dinette seating (almost black instead of dark brown) and the bedding, which is gray in the Tungsten. It's my understanding that they did away with the Flying Cloud 19 for 2020 and that the new 2020 FC starts at 23'. The 2020 Caravel and Bambi 19' have the same layout as the 2019 Flying Cloud 19CB with the Caravel having some pretty handy upgrades over the Bambi in the same layout. They changed a few things for 2020 such as the now all electric fridge, 2 burner stove, different style of storage cabinetry and moved the TV from just outside the door frame to the bedroom area (also pivots like the 2019 style). The divider is now a curtain instead of that accordion door type thing which makes it a lot easier. not to mention that the interior has been "modernized" over 2019s. Initially, I wasn't too thrilled at the interior but I've grown to prefer it over the softer colors in the 2019 FC. Overall, we're happy with it. I'll update the post with some pictures when I get a chance.

Awesome! we just ordered a 2020 Caravel 20FB and we can't wait to start using it. We loved the new design and all the upgrades offered over the Bambi. It seems like a very well thought out product release! Hope you are still enjoying your Caravel!
