Our boat has a 12-volt refrigerator that's about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the small one in our 19-foot Bambi, and it runs the boat battery dead overnight. When run on propane, the one in our Bambi uses less than half of a 30# tank in a year of camping, composed of a 2-3 week summer vacation and a dozen or so weekend trips.

Unless you have a special need for a 12-volt refrigerator, I'd just use propane for your regular refrigerator.

Engel, Dometic or Norcold. They all use the super efficient Danfoss compressors that draw less than 3 amps at 100% duty cycle. At 50 %, which is typical, they will draw about 1.5 amps/hour.

They make very small top load units that work great. I have been using an Engel and Dometic in my service van for almost 10 years. No problems!
