What's behind door #3?

First day with an old camper and trying to fisure it out. I have a 1973 Argosy 20 and can't get the small door open on the left side behind the wheel. I wonder whats in there and do I need to open it? Hopeing its where you hook up the water supply! Any ideas?

I am interpreting your question as in reference to the streetside of your coach. That location would correspond to the location of the water heater. The door should not be difficult to open as it is held shut by a turn-buckle . . . it sounds like it may be possible that the previous owner may have done away with the water heater and installed some form of patch panel.

Your water supply should be on the streetside frame member that supports the bumper . . . . it located quite low and not immediately identifiable. You will likely find that you need a new hose washer for the city water inlet. Your fresh water tank fill should be on the front of the coach below the Panoramic Window on the streetside.

The only exterior panels on the curbside would be the furnace exhaust which would be behind the wheel, and the refrigerator access panel that would be ahead of the axle.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

The small door on the streetside behind the wheel is the battery compartment on the Argosy 20'.

Have fun playing and exploring.
