New T Handle on Rear Access Door for my '68

I just replaced my original T handle on the rear access hatch of my '68 Overlander. Works great now and I regret not doing this a few years earlier. With that finished and working, I still don't trust it 100%. What are other options for a secondary security measure?

I first thought was a hasp and pin, but I've heard others on hear mention using a chain. What have you done and how did it work out for you?
