Entrance Door
Does anyone have an entrance door that would fit a 1970 Overlander? Please contact me. Thanks...

This door is going to be difficult to find, you will most likely have to find either a salvage yard or someone who is parting out a early 70's trailer. What happened to the original, they can be repaired.

May have made a bad mistake. I tried to replace the Bergman lock on my 68 safari with newer flush mount lock/handle by cutting away some of the entry door frame and ended up with a cracked door frame on both sides. Can these frames be welded or do I need another door and if so what years would fit this unit. Are the entry doors hard to get off and replace? Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Welding door frame
I've heard it can be done. You need to check with Andy R. @ InlandRV the website is InlandRV.com and the contact info is there. Ed

It can be welded by a competent welder, it shouldn't cost a fortune, and depending on the person doing the welding, done still on the trailer.

The cast door frame can be rewelded.
A new replacement door has been obsolete for 4 decades.
Finding a used door that fits is not easy, let alone making sure that the frame is not out of alignment.

One of the great things about structural aluminum, is that unless corroded, it is 100% repairable, and depending on the skill, and patience of the welder, and what you are willing to pay, the repair can be all but undetectable.

Entrance Door
I can't say I have checked to be for sure, but I seriously doubt that the door frame is made from pot metal,
I would be shocked if it isn't cast aluminum.
Now, assuming it is aluminum, it may be of an alloy that is more difficult to get an attractive weld on, but a good TIG welder can do it.

If it's "pot metal" why is it then that you can weld it back together with "aluminum"?
