Complete door lock and assembly for a 72,am I doomed?
Hello and help! I need a complete door lock and assembly for my 1972 Sovereign and am having no luck in finding one. Anyone here know where I can find one or is there an alternative one aside from the original I could use? Any help would be truly appriciated.

Thanks so much! For some reason I didn't come across this site on the net. It's expensive but better than having someone walking off with our stuff.

We also carry the KT lock for your Airstream, as well as some door lock kits, that are a lot cheaper, but still functional.
Or, your lock perhaps can be repaired, for less than the cost of a new KT lock.

If you are good at repairing your lock, parts are available.
Click here to see an exploded view of those parts.
Save you some money!!!!!!

Has anybody rechromed or tried Liquid Stainless Steel on their lock?

If you're handy and have a unit with good bones, it can be rebuilt. If it's a basket case and you truly need a complete unit they can be purchased, but they are not cheap. If you're not committed to stay "vintage" there are conversion kits available that will get you going for less, and the issue of replacement parts availability goes away...That is until the next wave of "That unit is no longer in production" comes along. But even then, parts are typically available for several years before availability drys up.
Let us know how this works out for you.
Regards,
Kevin

I sold him the lock off of my 71 Globetrotter. I rebuilt my door and installed a different more accessible latch.
