Color of hot water heater door

Hi - looking to spruce up the exterior door to the hot water heater on my 2000 Excella. Anyone know if the original color was white or gray? Thx

Rustoleum Bright aluminum is pretty close to clear coated ASes. Original was a dull gray on mine.
