Battery compartment door!

I guess it was just a matter of time until I lost one. It decided to fly away this past weekend. Hope it made it to the side of the road without hitting anyone. Looks simple enough to make a replacement. Now just have to find some heavy 1/8in (?) or so Aluminum flat plate and a lock. Lowes might have what I need. Pretty sure it was a case of operator error and hopefully I will learn a lesson from this.

Michael, we have a sign making shop near by that works with aluminum everyday. All sizes & thicknesses. Look for one near you, they very well may have what you need. And can cut it to size also.

Where do I find the locks for the outside compartments? I need all of them on a 1974 26 foot Argosy

For my trailer all the compartment locks were available at Loews. They are standard keyed twist lever locks. I bought the plate from online metals. Precut to the needed size.

Common lock keys means little or no security for the locked space. The fresh water input door key is number 751 on nearly all RVs. The lock provides protection against an inadvertent opening while in motion.
