'62 Ambsdr, Whats the box on the front?

Could you tell us what the box/storage compartment/access is on the front of this 1962 Ambassador. We have seen it on other models also and are not familiar with it.

Thanks Paul, from a distance it didn't look that large but that is what we thought.

Many will move the location of the battery down to the A-Frame behind the tanks or elsewhere due to the weight and finding the correct size battery for the box. I've seen trailers that will have the front panel all bent up due to the weight .
