We used the Nuvi on the original trip which was from Katy TX to Cypress TX, then from Cypress TX to Dallas. I turned all the avoidance factors on for that one. That was an interesting trip. We essentially tacked from Cypress to Dallas.

Since then we went back to Texas, turned all the filters off, and drove from Dallas to Lakeway ( West of Austin) and back. Then took it with us to Pittsburgh and I went out shopping around Pittsburgh area and hit a bunch of different individual addresses. It worked well enough that even when I doubt it I have been using it's routes and Have had no issues with the Garmin.

We don't use smartphones. Don't even own any. I have a single purpose cell phone that I mostly leave turned off.

But then I have installed two free updates since we bought it, too.

Recently in rural Iowa. I programmed the 1450, but used Google Navigation on my Android smart phone for the actual navigation.
Google kicked the Garmin's butt. A couple of times Garmin wanted me to take off out of the way on gravel roads and on one occasion in Monticello, IA the garmin wanted me to wander through the back streets, rather that stay on the main highway as common sense showed to be the way to go.

From then on, if I think the Garmin is DUI again, I always check google Nav. It's only big downside is it can not calculate a route if you don't have a good data connection.

Why is this post lined through?
Did Garmin USA sabotage it?
I am still looking for an explanation of why the above post is showing up with all the words lined through. Does it look that way to anyone else?
It does not look that way when I compose it. But after I post, it appears that way.

It appears that way because somebody's got some codes wrapped around the text. On edit (or reply), if you'll click the little A/A icon of the respond panel, you can see all of the codes.

Thanks,
I never noticed that before. It was a rogue mouse I guess.
