If we ever get a 25 I hope it won't be under there very much. 😎. It would be tight though.

ps: anyone got a 2007 or so 28 27 ft for sale??

Because I figure since it is still functional and attractive after 60 years there is a good chance I will own it for life. I love vintage things that are built to last.

We wanted something not too long or too short. We didn't like any SOB floorplan in the 26/27' range and didn't desire a slide. Just about all of them have the bed in the front, a tiny kitchen, huge slide with a U dinette and rear bath. Plus the décor on these are terrible. Where do they get their interior designers? Decided to look at Airstream, couldn't afford new and found our 2008 Classic 25fb. We like what it has in the size; separate bedroom from the living area, split bath, two wardrobes, large dinette with adjacent sitting area, adequate size kitchen with exposed drawers and pull out pantry, 7 cu/ft 2 door fridge, adequate sized holding tanks. We also like its not as tall as most SOBs,they have to raise the body up off the axles for the slide to clear. Easy to get in/out of an Airstream vs the SOB stairway. AS has better aerodynamics.

The only SOB I would consider that is not you typical SOB would be a Bigfoot but they are rare to find.

This forum is a valuable resource to Airstream owners and is a big plus.

I also feel when its time to move on we will be able to sell our Airstream more easily and at a good price, just like we did with our previous Casita trailer.

THANK YOU. I probably could have and may well have bought a SOB had one (1) of them had a genuinely nice, good, high quality interior. I looked at everything and they were all crap. I mean, glossy wallpaper with floral border. What year is this?

I don't understand why so many RV's have 1950's decor. The "designers" must think everyone stopped changing their views in 1959 and love chintzy curtains, lamps, etc. Do we all buy a 1,200' ranch house and paint it in dark colors inside (dark colors were the late '40's, but it took until 1960 to repaint the house)? Maybe we drive a Chevy Bel Air.

I wondered about that too. My in laws have one of those huge Montana 5th wheels that looks like it comes from the 80s. And I think it might have something to do with target market. That's when they were deep in the raising of 7 kids (their stick house looked kind of like that) and they were probably looking forward at that time to today - so the decor hearkens back to a time they felt younger and were dreaming about this phase of their life?

What do I know? 😁

This has me wondering about the demographics of Airstream owners. I assume the large majority are 55+ retiree / baby boomer types. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) Does anyone know of any hard data on that? Surely somebody's marketing department would want to know.

We like Airstream because they are simple, classic, durable, unique, easy to pull, easy to park, and quality that holds it's value.

Some of you might disagree with some of that statement but it comes from many years of RV's and many different types of them. We have had one or two of them all in our 35+ years of RVing.

They say that wisdom comes with age. I guess they are right because our last 3 RV's have all been Airstreams! Wish a we had started sooner and saved ourselves a bunch of money and headaches.

I don't know the demographics, but when we were younger we had no money and were good with tent-camping and sleeping with rocks in our backs. When we got too old for that kind of discomfort and had some discretionary funds, the AS Bambi was really the only RV that we liked.
