Why are you home this weekend?
Ok, I'm starting a thread for all us unfortunate people who did NOT go camping this weekend! For myself, this is one of very few weekends this past season that I am home as I have to work this weekend. Well, on a good note, at least we have this forum to "escape" to on occasion!

We were planning to be in Port Townsend, WA this weekend with the Caravel, but instead we are going to look at a 1964 Safari 'fixer-upper' for sale. Wish us luck! Maybe we'll bring home a new project to dream about...

Had plans to travel to Northern CA to go on Solar Home tour as are thinking of building new home in future once wife retires. But our little (well not that little anymore) Scottie has been ill for a week so didn't go on trip.
So went on our usual Yard Sale trip around town this AM, did a little outdoor work and now am switching between College Football and the Marlins/Giants MLB playoff game.
Thinking about winterizing. Got down to 60 this AM. Brrrrrr!!!!

I'm still in China. Fortunately, I will be returning to the states on October 22nd.
Unfortunately because of the new project I am working on, I will have to come right back here during the first week of November.

Working around the AS
Good ridance, what a weekend. Wire wheeled and sandblasted the frame. Picked up a new axle and brakes. Pioneer Wheel and Rim are the "go-to" guys in my book. Watched the Twins get beat by the Yanquis.

Knee surgery Thursday afternoon, arthroscopic (I have no idea if that's spelled correctly) and I swear to you it has not hurt as much as a mosquito bite since I woke up from the anesthesia.
But it will slow down the polishing a bit, as The Sarge says "Now you take it easy on that knee! What would the doctor say?!? Yadda, yadda, tadda..."

Staying home this weekend
Getting hitched in May, '03 and went looking for a home. Not a lot of room for selection when you are a teacher and live in L.A. THe market for a home is extremely difficult to afford. Considering living out of a Pacer!
Just kidding!

took out the tambour enclosure that creates a "cabinet" over the fridge...what it really does is wastes alot of space. anyway, now there's room for a microwave, so we can easily zap food for Jr....gotta keep the wife happy, so she'll go camping with me to the last rally of the season next weekend. (how about you, Yukionna? going to Greenfield?)
got the idea fom RJ's photo archives...look at the pics for the 73 safari 23.....
Oh, yeah: gotta replace the gasket on the door, and then its off to the fair thisafternoon....
