Where do you store your outside stuff?

We are coming from a pop up with a front "trunk" where we would put all the stuff that we didn't want in our car/living space. Things like the outdoor rug, grill, bikes, patio chairs.... But now with our Airstream, once we get it ready to travel again, we do not know the best way to transport all this stuff. I have a Suburban with the room, but I don't really want it smelling like a fire pit or grill. Do you travel with these sorts of things in your camper or tow vehicle? Do you have tricks for not getting either filthy? Do you put bikes in your camper or use a bike rack on the trailer or tow vehicle? Just curious what everyone does/suggests.

We don't carry many outdoor items.

I have the cardboard box from the two reclining folding chairs which fits between the queen bed and back wall. When I opened it I cut around one end so it left the sides and bottom intact. Rides well down the road and is not an issue when they're inside.

I bought an outdoor fabric (Sunbrella) and sewed a big bag for the 12x20 outdoor rug. The rug, folded & then rolled, goes in the bag and travels in the shower stall. The bag captures debris and keeps everything clean when stowed.

The folding aluminum end tables (Wal-Mart find) fit nicely behind the couch on the front wall; totally out of view and trapped when traveling.

The small gas grill has a bag, also made from the Sunbrella, which keeps the storage area clean as well. I made it two layers of fabric to ensure it would not leak. Every other trip or so, the bag goes in the wash. Another Wal-Mart find was a large plastic bin that fits perfectly into one of the under bed storage areas and holds the grill. The propane tank gets unscrewed from the grill when we are not cooking.

The outdoor lanterns go under one of the dinette seats. Otherwise, we don't carry anything for camping in the TV except firewood in colder weather.

I should mention we travel with two Great Danes and their food goes into a large plastic bin that has a screw lid with gasket and holds 50lbs of dry food to preserve freshness and eliminate odors. Its is great for bear country and, hopefully, redirects attention away from the trailer to the TV where we keep it.

I am prohibited by a final authority from putting any "outside stuff" inside the Airstream while travelling. Fortunately, the compartments with outside doors are not considered "inside". There are a few of those on the FB model so the hitch pieces, hoses, power cords, cleaning/maintenance stuff, and tools go in there.

The rest goes in the bed of the pickup in bags. The reclining lawn chairs and folding table in some large breathable chair bags from the local RV store with carry handles. The outdoor rug in a carry case I got from Camping World. The propane grill has a cover I ordered from the manufacturer.

Except for the firepit you mention, those bags might help keep things clean in the back of the Suburban.
