Where Do You Store Your Grill?????

OK, I've searched the froums and have seen what types of grills are popular. But, with storage on an AS at a premium, (and I don't want to store a grill inside either the camper or the tow vehicle,) where do you keep it???

Sorry, I carry ours in the back of the Suburban with the propane fuel bottles stored in the rear, curb-side storage cubby, aft of the wheel well in the AS. After all, if you eliminate both THE TV and trailer, there isn't anywhere protected and frankly, with my back, the thought of lifting that puppy to the roof of the TV is daunting.

Just what are your issues with inside storage?

We do use a large, Cordura, zippered, wheeled duffle to store everything in to prevent rust, soot and grease from covering the inside of the TV and getting all over us when we load it back in. For longer campground stays when not comfortable leaving it set up on the site, the entire bag is stored under the trailer with a cable lock through the bag's handles and one of the wheels. Usually though, if it isn't safe to leave my stuff set up, it isn't a CG I want to stay in very long...

We use a Weber Baby-Q grill with a 10 pound propane cylinder. I hate the thought of throwing away all those small one pound cylinders.

As for storage, it is either under the awning or in the bed of the pickup truck.

When it is at home it is either in the garage or the yard shed.

Back of the pickup truck. Have a small butane burner that is stored inside the A/S.

Back of the pickup for us! We make sure and clean the grill extry good when we "bug out" so grill gunk doesn't invade the the truck bed...

I have a 25' SS and I keep mine under the bed in that storage compartment. It is inside the storage tub. Not an issue for me and seems to work well.

This is why pickup trucks make such good TVs. With the bigger double cabs you can still put two (people or dogs) in the back seat and carry things like generators, grills, propan, tables and chairs in the bed.

We put our Weber BabyQ in the back of the Durango in the Weber zippered canvas bag. Once the bag is zipped tight it doesn't smell at all.

During storage, we keep the grill under the table. Once on the road, it goes to the back of the TV.

Yea, around late 04 it was a toss up for me between a crew cab diesel pickup and the 3/4 ton Suburban. In my case, with marriage on the horizon and the hint of kids maybe in a few years, I recalled my years of traveling with my parents and siblings in a Suburban and how that enclosed space was great for playtime, storage and such. I opted for the Burb for the kid factor reason more than anything else. I could not put the kids in the pickup bed during transit to "play". So for me the Burb was a logical choice, though I will clearly admit, it has it's good and bad points, just as the pickup for me, in my case did too. Storage, and more specifically messy and/or smelly type storage at that clearly was a very positive reason for the pickup. Not having a pickup was one of the reasons I went with a propane powered generator, so I wouldn't have to haul gasoline in the Burb or the Safari.

We normally carry ours in the bed of the truck but with the rules prohibiting this in some western campgrounds - due to bears- I slip it into a contractors garbage bag and stow it under the bed.
Our center bed '77 has been modified for a fulltime bed with a proper box frame and lots of storage.

Our grill is a little smaller made of cast aluminum. The rear trunk of our AS is perfect fit for it along with any cast iron cookwear. We also carry a two burner camp stove which is a little bulky so it is in the back of the TV along with a 20 lb. fibreglass propane tank. Our TV has a topper on it to keep everything dry and kind of dust free.

Small propane grill, stored in back storage area of the Airstream. There is no mess with it, so no problem. ~G

Ditto on all points. When we're at a site, we've got it set up on its own table/cart with the big propane cylinder. When on the road it's in the back of the pickup wedged in there next to the monstrous dog crate with all the other junk we take with us (bikes, kids' water equipment, cooler etc). The propane tank is bungeed next to the wheel well so it doesn't move.

I keep ours in a large card board box to catch any grease under our queen bed. With the bed down there is no smell.

coleman makes a great propane grill that folds up and can be stored in the rear storage area. I also use a coleman stove and they both fit really nice and out of the way in the same area. walmart has this unit for under $70. out of site but ready to go anytime

In the bed of the truck - it's small but can cook 2 steaks. Came with an extra grate. Cheap - less than $20 at Acadamy Sports - so that makes it disposable if necessary. BTW - it matches the AS look.......

You know they reuse those 1 pound bottles, right? I mean, that's why I've been recycling them at Home Depot for years, hopefully!
