Where do I find out about Airstream get-togethers that are kid friendly?

Are there any meet-ups that are kid friendly or are they mainly for grown ups. I'm afraid that if we take our 7 y/o to a rally, we'd end up leaving the very next morning because he'd be so bored.

We live in NorCal and just picked up our 2011 28' FC last weekend. Can't wait to take her out!

Howdy...
Out here in Texas, we just show up with our Grandkritters.. all are accepted. Yes, the kids need 'direction'... and they will be 'bored' at home or in the AS...

Try taking them to a COE campground (Corps of Engineers)... or State Park...

Or, try starting your own 'AS camping' group where you teach kids about the wonders of nature!!!

Try WBCCI, they have local, reginal, and a national rallies. They are family friendly and some have kids stuff to do.

There is a large NorCal rally at Casini Ranch in April.
Lots of really nice people, and several families with kids.

At many of the NorCal rallies, kids bring bicycles and ride around the campground. The Casini Rally is located right on the Russian River and there are often kids and dogs playing in the water. At the Pinnacles Rally there are hikes for all abilities and interests as well as Junior Ranger activities to earn a badge.

There are some adult activities, mostly socializing with or without imbibing, which are more adult and would be dull for a kid, but that's mostly after dinner. Casini has fire pits and sometimes people roast marshmallows. Pinnacles has evening ranger programs which have appealed to the kids who were there.

Kids are like puppies, tons of energy and can't stay focused. I found through the years raising kids, coaching and training puppies and dogs is to give them tasks and rewards. Have them pick up around the campsite, have them gather twigs for a fire, have them help you set up, carefully watching every move. It take so much longer, but in looking back when we took our 2 year old and 5 year old camping all the time, constructive little tasks not only kept them busy but they loved it and still to this day talk about it, both now in mid 30s.

Don't wait, do it now, go out and camp
