Good Morning,

But everyone needs more stuff.

We cleaned out the storage unit yesterday and had everyone come and get what belonged to them, brought back the rest for the garage sale, "haven't seen or used it in 2 years, don't need it". At least that's my philosophy. Now his almost empty garage is full again. oops

Thanks for the encouragement!

Marie is going today for her first cataract removal. We got an unexpected surprise when the surgery center called and told us we had to pay them $1000 cash up front for the first eye, and $200 cash up front for each additional eye. How many additional eyes do most people have?
Yikes! Anyway, with any luck at all, she will be able to see better than she has in several years when this part of our tribulations is over. Hopefully she will still recognize me when she gets home...

That's they way it goes Marie. If only I could teach my Mom the 2 year rule. I'm still sneaking stuff out to the dumpster or to the Goodwill 2.5 years after her move from Florida. Problem is, if she catches me I hear a loud protest, "I might NEED that someday!"

Divesting one's self of "stuff" is easier for some than others.

Not only will she recognize you, she'll probably fall in love with you all over again!

That was a rude surprise about the cash up front. The "additional eye" clause does make you wonder . . .

I suppose Cyclops could save a little.

Marie -

I can totally relate to your situation but I keep changing the timeframe. It used to be 2 years, then it went to 18 months. Just before we moved it went to a year and now it's 6 months. It still took 4 loads in a 26' Penske rental truck plus various small loads in a pick up plus we still have a storage space that's full.

Thanks, we can use all the good wishes we can get.
Marie just got back from the eye surgery center, she is pretty woozy from the drugs they gave her, but she says she can see better in the eye she had surgery on better than she has since she was 16.

Very nice hug from the Balrgn family and all others.

Just left the eye surgeon's office and all is good. I can already see beter than before, even though the vision fluctuates at times as it should, no pain and feeling good.

It sounds like you two are getting a wholesale spring cleaning this year (and I don't mean the cleaning-for-the-move!), all parts fresh and new again Our best wishes continue for both of you as together you heal and return to full health. ~G

Halfway there with the eyes

Marie, I'm glad to hear things went well with the cataract surgery. After the second eye is done you can truly agree with the old saying, two eyes are better than one. Some say the eyes of love are blind. That being said, was Terry a sight for sore eyes?

OK, OK, I'll stop. Don't want to get charged $200 for each additional eye.

The eyes have it!!!!!!!

Boy is the vision better today. I was pointing out things to Terry that I would not have seen a few days ago. Now I can't wait till Monday to get the other one done.

Plus today I went for round 2 of symvisc injections in the knees. My doctor is great, since he uses the "freezing spray" so they don't hurt. Yes I did the FMLA and The disability forms for work. I'm out until 7/01, then I'll have to find something that does not require prolonged running or standing, as the knees have had it. Been a nurse to long. 37 years. Poke me with a fork, I'm done.

(Sorry Terry, we hijacked your thread.)

Terry goes back to Dr. DiPasquale in Tampa tomorrow, and we are hoping for increased weight bearing, actually any weight bearing would be good.

Take care all of you, back at you later.

Marie

Great going, Marie!!..that's cool you can see better!..my mom (who's 87) had both of hers done, and she sees great too..still has to wear glasses for distance, I think (she got a choice, she said she didn't think she needed to see far out there!)..

HI,

Took Terry to Dr. in Tampa. Yeaaaaaaa! He is off the walker, on crutches, back on therapy, 3xweek for 6 weeks for strengthening of the right leg, re-teaching him how to walk full weight bearing and also he will be having massage therapy for his hands and to prevent scar tissue. (my sister is a licensed massage therapist, and so is our daughter in law and they suggested this) Dr. Sagi thought it was a great idea. Also, he looked closer at Terrys hands, and will be x-raying them next visit. I'll let him tell you about the x-rays today.

All in All a good report.

Marie
