Best wishes to both of you. I hope Terry's setback turns out to be just a little bump on the road!

Marie, tell him we understand that he won't be out to play for a while 'cause we know he hurts and has a temperature... you can let him come back out to play when he feels better!

And... YOU take time to get plenty of rest too... this is stressful enough for both of you with only ONE of you broken... stay well yourself.

Thanks guys,
I'm up and heading out to find him an english muffin. Your support and gracious thoughts are helping me cope.

Marie, it is a temporary setback, but you have averted what could have been a majorly serious situation. From the way it sounds, just a day of delay in seeking care could have led to a much more invasive infection. You and I both know how hard those can be to get rid of. Plus, the IVC filter is a necessary evil and will be your best friend in preserving Terry from a fatal pulmonary embolus. Major karma to you for being a vigilant nurse and standing by your man!

Thanks. I am keeping my posts short. Morphine and typing are a bad mix.

Good afternoon all of our airstream family,

Terry is doing much better. He was up walking (non weight bearing) with therapy twice today. We've seen his doctor. infectious disease doctors, and numerous others. They are waiting to see what the bacteria is before a final decision on how long he has to have the IV therapy. They have changed the antibiotics to broader spectrum ones and hopefully that will do the trick.

He is scheduled for another surgery Friday to see if they can close the incision and take the wound vac off. He is a fast healer and we're hoping they close the wound.

He and I are hoping to be out of here and home by Saturday or Sunday.

Keep the non-infectious thoughts coming our way.

Thanks for all you do,
Marie

I would only point out that this is a major financial stress on Terry and Marie. The Paypal route would still be much appreciated for "one of our own" if you could consider that at all. Thank you!
